STYLE GURU BIO: Jasmine Mirajkar

January 20th, 2017 at 2:00am

Blizzards and below 0° temperatures started off the New Year with a bite. That doesn’t stop this Style Guru from pursuing what she loves and lives for… fashion. These flurries, raindrops, and even my car getting stuck in the snowy side streets of Boise aren’t stopping me from dressing to a T in booties, denim, and faux fur coats this January. They represent my everyday go-to for everything. With the addition of a fur coat, a winter outfit can easily go from monotonous to aesthetically pleasing and elevated. Leaving home without one during winter is like trying to get into my iced over car without my keys. It doesn’t make sense and it simply doesn’t happen. With that little blurb being said, I’m Jasmine Mirajkar: Lover of fashion, deep disco house, and all things French.

The remarkable things about fur coats are that they come in all sorts of colors, styles, patterns, textures, so on and so forth. So picking one of mine comes as easily as day and night. The high waisted leather pants I’m wearing have suede on the inside to provide some extra warmth for those chilly days. Suede booties in nude and a mauve fur coat add different textures to experiment with. I’m in love and inspired by mixing diverse textures with neutrals to create looks worth admiring.

Style has changed drastically throughout my 21 years; therefore, it’s only natural to say as fashion evolves, I will as well. I’m a woman who enjoys the arts, culture, music, fashion, and literature. I’m a learner, an advocate, and a passionate romantic. “Fashion is art and you are the canvas.”  Fashion is my art and I am the canvas. One more time… fashion is my art and I am the canvas. Let’s just let that sink in.

2017 is another year to showcase your personal style. This is your art form. If a statement coat is more your style or if you want to take a more minimalistic approach toward fashion, my resolution for you is to make your art form YOURS. Inspire and be inspired. Have purpose and passion in whatever comes your way. Simply be striking.
