STYLE GURU BIO: Jaiya Williams

Hello! I’m Jaiya Williams a sophomore majoring in mass communications with a concentration in public relations at the University of South Florida. Fashion has been a huge part of my personality and everyday life since young. I’m always the friend who takes forever to choose an outfit or to even leave the house even in a reasonable time due to the fact that I love to look stylish and be well dressed.

I strongly believe that first impressions and how you carry yourself matter in a world where beneficial opportunities can arise at anytime. So, under those circumstances, looking the part and dressing well day in and day out matters. How you brand yourself matters. Style is personal. Style is something that is defined and displayed by you. It can speak for you when words may not be enough. Fashion is an outlet for expression and your style is the form of expression that has no restrictions. Personally my style and the fashion trends I’m into range and vary from girly to chic to retro to sporty. With the amount of new and modern styles along with the re-invention of styles the fashion world produces (i.e. the ’70s bell bottom jeans and today’s high-waist flares), there is no way I could only obsess over one certain trend and not have my fun with some of the others.

For this look, I’m wearing a gray off-the-shoulder crop top with these purchased DIY distressed high waist Levi jeans from a friend of mine who loves DIY clothing creations. I paired this outfit with black high top Converse which are my favorites! For accessories I added my black bowtie choker with gold tips and gold hoop earrings to bring out my face with these fierce bangs I’m rocking. For the final touch, I brought out my black and white clutch messenger purse to add a little edginess to the entire look.

I hope you all love this look in the slightest way I love it! To stay updated with future #OOTD’s featuring me and other fashion related posts follow my social media.
