STYLE GURU BIO: Jacqui Wallace

Hello Fashionista/os!  I am so excited to introduce myself as a Style Guru for this upcoming semester.  My goal for my style posts is for my readers to catch a glimpse into the personal style of students on the campus of Illinois State University.

As a young child I grew up loving art. My favorite activities included playing dress-up and coloring on the walls of my parents’ home.  As I grew in my love for art, I found my love for fashion. I learned that fashion was a lot like art. I have such a passion for fashion because of the ability it has to encompass a vibe, but also express a person’s personality from a simple change of what someone wears.  After discovering my love for fashion, I indulged myself with anything and everything creative. Today, I am inspired by all things DIY, artsy and inventive. I follow bloggers like Gal Meets Glam and Sincerely Jules to study current fashion trends and mimic their style.

As a junior at ISU, I spend most of my time immersing myself in fashion. Whether it is through my personal style blog, my job in retail, or my studies as an Apparel Design student, I spend a lot of time thinking about fashion. Art, photography and fashion are all skills that have continued to bring me great joy.  Motivated by the strong ladies in fashion like Lauren Conrad and Diane von Furstenberg, I value the importance of being an everyday girl and being the best version of myself. I hope to bring these characteristics to my experience while being a Style Guru this semester.

Find my posts on Fridays for a more up close look of Illinois State University’s campus and style. I look forward to sharing!
