STYLE GURU BIO: Hannah Codling

Hi there Fashionistas! My name is Hannah Codling and I am so excited to be a part of the Style Guru team here at CollegeFashionista. I just finished my freshman year at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, and I absolutely loved it. I am so excited to be home in Omaha, Nebraska for a couple of months, but I’ll be back in Eau Claire to continue to work towards a degree in public relations with a minor in marketing in the fall.

Somewhere between my awkward sixth and seventh grade years I realized that I really loved clothes, make up and keeping up with the latest trends. I soon began to see that I had a real knack for all things fashion, and its been one of my greatest passions ever since. As my favorite person ever, Kate Spade once said, “I think that playing dress up begins at age five and never truly ends,” and this could not be more true. Fashion, makeup, accessorizing, styling, etc., is one of my favorite ways to express myself and show off my personality, and I am so excited to share these things with all of you.

A few of my favorite things include reading, makeup, tennis, Twitter, lipstick, Gossip Girl and coffee from my favorite coffee house, Scooters. When it comes to fashion, I love chunky bracelets, dainty necklaces, statement jackets and the colors navy blue and army green. My favorite stores are J.Crew, kate spade, Forever 21, H&M, Von Maur, Target, Gap and Kendra Scott.

I loving pairing simple items with my favorite statement pieces, like a jacket or a cool necklace and bracelet. Keeping things simple and then adding one “wow” piece keeps the outfit looking classy while still being eye catching.

Since beginning college I have found that my style has changed drastically and I have adopted a much more “bohemian” look. For my look I paired my floor length kimono with a loose dress and statement bracelet. This look is comfortable and cute, perfect for a day downtown.

I am so excited for this coming summer and to share more of my favorite trends with you!
