STYLE GURU BIO: Erica Spaeth

Hi! My name is Erica Spaeth. I am a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh and am studying Communications with a specialization in Fashion. I hope to go into the fashion industry one way or another—probably something like PR or fashion journalism. This past summer, I interned in New York where I got to explore my style and be myself. I plan to return to New York City after graduating. I identify as a mood dresser. When I wake up in the morning, I will either feel like dressing for a jog, the beach or a stroll down Madison Avenue. My moods and emotions fuel my style.

I get a lot of my style inspiration from today’s IT-girls like Gigi Hadid or Kendall Jenner and, of course, Miss Taylor Swift. All three of them have very chic, classy style and are never seen walking the streets looking any less than fabulous. Whether it be a sundress or athletic attire, those girls know how to make it work! When I am strutting down the streets of any city, I like to match my Ted Baker lace blouse with my alice + olivia skirt for the perfect black and white mix!

One of my favorite stores is Topshop. I believe that they are classy and up-to-date on today’s street style. In their fall ready-to-wear collection, they match sweaters with dresses and fur coats, mixing up textures for the perfect city dweller look. Living in Pittsburgh, a lot of the fashion is like that of New York City, but perhaps a little more boho. I am happily able to model my wardrobe after the fashion that I am seeing in magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue! On the days that I wake up and decide to look chic and refined, Topshop has my back.
