STYLE GURU BIO: Emma Mosser

Hello everyone! My name is Emma Mosser, and I’m dusting off the camera and my blogging skills for my second semester of CollegeFashionista. This time around, however, I’m studying Slavic Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, and I could not be more excited.

While I do love all things Central/Eastern Europe, fashion has always been my one true love. Growing up, I would always draw outfits in sketch books and imagine the future scenarios when I could rock my designs. Looking back, I really wasn’t a very talented designer, so it’s good I’ve discovered my new passion of styling. There’s truly nothing better than the feeling of taking separate pieces and putting them together into one final, magical outfit.

I’m a person who get easily obsessed with things. Currently I’m obsessing over Ina Garten (aka the Barefoot Contessa, aka perfection), and she’s helped me discover my interest in cooking. Olivia Puris’ blog, What Olivia Did, is another obsession of mine, and she, along with pictures of ’60s fashion icon Jane Birkin, helped me find my new style. For my bio photos I channeled Olivia and Jane and went with a casual ’60s look. My white off-the-shoulder top is just cropped enough to stop at the top of my denim button-front skirt, and I love the two together. My faux suede Topshop lace-up heels are my favorite shoes at the moment, so it’s such a plus that they are also comfortable. Silver and turquoise jewelry is timeless, and I wouldn’t let my tiny wrists keep me from wearing my favorite bracelet.

Fashion is an amazing form of expression, and I’m beyond lucky to be writing for CollegeFashionista and finding the most stylish students on campus. By taking photos of their outfits, I’m able to snag inspiration for future looks, as well as show my lovely readers potential outfits. It’s really a win-win.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading a bit about me, and look out for my new articles every month!
