Hello everyone!
My name is Emma and I am currently a junior at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY! Most of you have probably never heard of Canisius, or Buffalo for that matter, so basically to sum it up in the least amount of words possible, Buffalo is a drinking town with a sports problem who invented chicken wings and Canisius is a small private school in the heart of the city. But to me, it is home and so much more!
I have always loved fashion ever since I was a young gal and one of the reasons is because when I have a good outfit on that I am comfortable and confident in, my day is instantly so much better. I would not classify myself under one style category. However, if asked to describe my style I would say it is very minimalistic and girly with an edge. I also love fashion because it brings so many people of different ethnicities, skin colors, and body sizes together and it emphasizes being YOU—through confidence, creativity, uniqueness, and self- expression. As cliché as it sounds, the legend Dr. Seuss himself said, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” and he is right! Be you, be fashionable, embrace your differences!!!
Aside from my love of fashion, I also love to travel and hope that it is forever part of my life because I’m a firm believer that experience is the best form of learning—about both yourself and the world we live in. There are way too many beautiful places to see out there, and I want to see them all! I was fortunate enough to spend a semester in Florence, Italy studying fashion and I am so grateful for the experience because I was not only exposed to new people, places, and experiences, but I got to see at first hand how differently fashion varies from country to country which is awesome to see as an aspiring student wanting to work in the industry. Fashion really is always changing!
Lastly, I would be lying if I didn’t tell you one VERY important detail about myself—I love Justin Bieber. Here’s to a great semester full of fashion, new friends and inspiration!
