Hey! What’s Up? I’m Demetrius Few and I’m an Apparel & Textile Design junior at Michigan State University. I was actually a pre-med student; but after much consideration, and the threat of having to take chemistry, I decided to pursue what I really wanted—fashion.
I was born for the most part in Michigan and I say for the most part because I’m pretty sure my heart is somewhere in New York City, so after graduation I’ll be headed there to find out where home is.
I’ve been interested in fashion and art since way back. My grandparents were always very fashion conscious and that trait didn’t skip any generations. From my mother taking me to museums and going to school for fashion herself, to my dad’s drawings and style far exceeding that of your average dad, I easily fell in love with the same things they were interested in.
My style is one that can range from pure street style to the college student version of Yves Saint Laurent. It really all depends on how I’m feeling a given day. Regardless of my mood, nine times out of 10, you’ll see me wearing black jeans of some variety. Hopefully, summer takes it easy on me. However, this summer also calls for light wash denim. The finishing touch to my summer look is a gold watch.
As a fashion student and DIY-er, I like to alter and make some of my own clothes. That being said, one of my main goals being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista is to help all of the readers learn how to make an outfit uniquely their own while borrowing from the style of other Fashionistas/os! If you keep up with street style, you’ll understand my appreciation for Stan Smith.
I’m looking forward to a great first semester as a Style Guru, I plan on bringing you styles that’ll impress and motivate, so be on the lookout!
