Hey there! My name is Caroline, and some things you should know about me right off the bat are that I love every dog I meet, I could drink green tea for the rest of my life and my absolute favorite form of self-expression is fashion. As I begin my second semester as a sophomore in college, the year isn’t the only thing that will be new. I recently changed from a business major to advertising and public relations, and while it can be stressful deciding what you think you want to do with the rest of your life, I am also loving the process of discovering what I truly love to do.

When I find something I am genuinely interested in, I throw myself into it whole-heartedly and have the desire to learn about every little detail the topic has to offer. To offer an example, I discovered that I loved taking piano lessons when I was eight years old, so I decided to study music extensively from then on. Taking every lesson I could, I pushed myself to be better. While music is a huge passion of mine, I would say I love fashion just as much. Because of this, I am so excited to learn what I can about photography, spotting trends and writing about what I’ve found. And while we can’t all exactly take private lessons on how to be fashionable, we can learn from others who inspire us (and have a great sense of style, of course).

While most days I like to keep it simple and comfortable, I always feel better about myself when I truly like what I’m wearing. I am loving the major choker trend that has been happening, so of course I had to go out and find a simple black choker I could incorporate into multiple outfits. Versatile pieces are important to me, because I never feel bad investing in something I know I have endless styling options for. That’s exactly why I’m in love with this black, zip-up corduroy skirt. And finally, who doesn’t love a good pair of Converse? They finish off this laid back look and really are a timeless shoe option for those casual days.

I have had a thing for stylish clothes as long as I can remember, but this year I decided to take things a step further and challenge myself creatively. I hope that as I journey through this time of growth and self-discovery, I can continue to find my own personal style and begin to build a wardrobe that allows me to confidently express myself as an individual. So excited to begin this adventure with CollegeFashionista!!
