STYLE GURU BIO: Brittney Wade

Hey everyone! My name is Brittney and I am currently a junior at the University of North Texas where I am pursuing a degree in fashion design. This is my first time interning and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to learn and perfect my craft of fashion, photography, and writing with College Fashionista.

Fashion summed up in one word is FUN! Fashion allows one to express themselves in so many ways, making a person unique in the best way possible. From an early age I have had an obsession with fashion. Playing dress up in my mother’s closet, there were heels upon heels that I dared to walk in and enough accessories to make any outfit pop! My style is largely influenced by my mood and destination. No matter where I go, I have to remain stylish and comfortable. I love bright colors for everything, whether it be lipstick, a statement blazer, or a show-stopping shoe. I have to have color present at all times when wearing an outfit. I would definitely say that my style is classy and simple. I tend to wear outfits that allow me to go from day to night with a quick shoe change.

In my look above, I decided to go with a timeless long-sleeved denim dress. This denim dress is a perfect length to wear year round. Just add tights underneath with a cute heeled boot during the winter. I chose to pair my dress with a comfortable pair of low-top, black and white converse. The converse makes this outfit great for running errands. I also have a few accessories that I wear faithfully with every outfit. This includes a pair of stud earrings, a silver and gold Michael Kors linked watch, and a gold bracelet. However, in order to jazz the outfit up and make it a little more dressy casual, I wore a statement necklace which is a go to for someone who is not fond of sporting numerous accessories. By wearing a statement piece, it adds flair to any outfit. I have a thing for hats too, so I buy them and never wear them. I thought it was fitting to finally wear this felt fedora hat for this chic casual outfit. Lastly, but certainly not least, I finished the dress with a gold embellished black Tory Burch clutch. By adding a pop of fuchsia colored lipstick, the look really comes together, as a girl is never fully dressed without lipstick.

Thank you for reading, fellow Fashionista/os.
