STYLE GURU BIO: Bri Barbrick

Hi there! My name is Bri Barbrick, and I am a senior at the University of Georgia! Currently, I am expertly procrastinating my way through my last ever semester as a Fashion Merchandising major. After graduating in December, I am planning on taking a semester off, and then jumping head first into law school. I’d be lying if I told you I have never been compared to Elle Woods. “Have you ever seen Legally Blonde?,” is usually the first thing I am asked when I mention law school.

I have been interested in fashion ever since I can remember. My mom and dad have always been very well dressed individuals, and they made sure my sister and I were the best-dressed kids on the block. I can remember picking out a maroon velvet dress with shoulder pads, white tights with lace detail and black Mary Jane kitten heels to wear to a Christmas party when I was five. It has been 17 years since that day and I still find that getup to be my best one yet!

About a year ago, my friend and I figured out how to describe my sense of style in one sentence, and it is still a relevant description! I would describe my style as a handful of New York City glamour, a teaspoon of Southern sass, a pinch of Chinese street style and a sprinkle of magic. As you can tell, I like to be all over the place and try new things. In my world, change is fun. It must be noted that I pull my style inspiration from Nicole Richie, festival attire and my mom (she has killer style).

This past summer, I spent my days living in NYC and interning for Elizabeth and James, which is one of Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen’s brands. I had the most incredible summer! Not only did I learn a lot about fashion while at work, I learned a lot about fashion by just walking around the city (in my Converse, of course)! I found out while I was in New York City that I would be a fall Style Guru, so I cannot wait to incorporate what I learned in New York this summer into my posts.

I positively cannot wait to chat with you again! Stay tuned for more!
