STYLE GURU BIO: Blake Mudd

Greetings Fashionistas/os! My name is Blake Mudd and I am returning for my fifth (wow!) semester here at CollegeFashionista. Although I did not participate last spring, I was still going through my weekly routine of reading everyone’s posts and keeping up with all the different styles going on throughout all the college campuses. To say I missed writing my own posts would be an understatement—after all, CollegeFashionista has been one of my favorite activities that I have participated in throughout college.

As I begin my senior year at University of Houston, where I am studying retailing and consumer science, I am beginning to appreciate my school and my city more and more every day. One of my favorite things about Houston is its diversity, which can be seen through everyone’s style, especially on the UH campus. Despite the constant heat and humidity, Cougars still manage to look stylish and chic.

My own style is extremely varied, to say the least. I currently work full-time as a visual merchandiser at Macy’s so on weekdays, you can spot me wearing black tops and khaki-colored chino paints. One of my favorite trends is the white sneaker; however, I have a major issue about keeping my clothes crisp and neat because I am constantly working with paint/spray paint or other art materials. So if you see someone with dirty white shoes and stained chinos, it’s probably me. When I am not working, I prefer to wear cropped shorts and short-sleeve button-downs featuring bold patterns. Even though I am living a double life with my style, I am constantly evolving and am always looking for new ways to enhance my person style.
