STYLE GURU BIO: Bethany Stokoski

Hello my fellow fashion lovers! I’m back for my second semester as a Style Guru, and I cannot wait to delve into all things fall fashion-related. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a rising sophomore at DePaul University in Chicago where I am studying Public Relations and Advertising with a minor in Marketing. Writing and social media are two of my passions, so being a Style Guru is definitely a great fit for me!

Another one of my many passions is staying up-to-date with all things celebrity and Hollywood-related. This may sound strange at first, but I promise I’m not one of those weird stalkers who ends up being caught in Miley Cyrus’s swimming pool. I just enjoy knowing what all the celebrities are up to and what the newest trends are in Hollywood. So basically I’m your go-to gal when you need to know the status of the Ben and Jen divorce or what the newest celebrity workout trend is. A major perk to my slight celebrity obsession is that I always know what they’re wearing. Therefore, I can instill my celebrity fashion knowledge upon you all so that you are rocking the same trends as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Speaking of celebrity fashion icons, some of my favorites include Lauren Conrad and Olivia Palermo, who inspired my look for this post.

I’ve always been a strong skinny jean advocate until I bought my first pair of boyfriend jeans this summer. I know I’m a little late on joining the boyfriend jean trend, but I had never found the perfect pair until now. Here, I’m seen pairing the jeans with a gray sleeveless shell—another one of my obsessions from my summertime shopping sprees. I’ve been pairing the jeans with sleeveless tops similar to the one shown above, but I’m really excited to start wearing them with sweaters and my favorite leather jacket. In terms of shoes, gladiator sandals have been my go-to to pair with them. However, this fall I’m definitely looking forward to swapping out the sandals for leather booties. I usually keep accessories and jewelry pretty minimal by sticking to my kate spade initial necklace and Michael Kors watch.

I’m really looking forward to this upcoming semester as we explore all the fall trends together. Hopefully I’ll encourage you all to step out of your fashion comfort zones and experiment with new pieces, as well as those you currently have in your closets. For those of you who are starting to shop for fall fashion already, I’ll leave you with a few words of wisdom—invest in flare jeans, chunky knit sweaters and high-waist anything.
