STYLE GURU BIO: Baylor Cherry

Hello my darling Fashionista/os! My name is Baylor Cherry and I am beginning my second year as Journalism major as well as my second semester interning with CollegeFashionista. I am obsessed with both writing and fashion, which makes this internship so much more fun for me!

I am always changing my style as well as my wardrobe; my mom always complains that I only wear my clothes about three times before wanting to sell them (which obviously isn’t true…for the most part). I don’t think I can describe my style in one single word. I think that it’s fun to buy all sorts of things and mix and match styles as well as patterns. I do have my days where I can leave my apartment looking like I had just rolled out of bed, but I really do enjoy looking polished and dolled up as much as I can. The most important thing for me is that I dress up for myself and not for others. I am not one to try to impress everyone all the time; if I think something looks good, I will do my best to rock it wherever I go.

If I could only buy one thing in life, it would definitely be shoes. My 40 pairs just aren’t enough and I’m already creating a list of more that I need (I don’t actually need any, but I do want them all!). I am currently on a heeled sandal scavenger hunt, as I like the option of adding more height to my short, five foot three figure while still looking and feeling casual. My other go-to shoe style is slip-on sandals. I’m not a fan of shoes that strap in between my toes, so any type of shoe that avoids that is the shoe for me.

Throughout high school, I did have a job but was pretty stingy with money when it came to buying clothes. T.J.Maxx and Marshalls have been a blessing to my closet, and I have continued shopping at these store obsessions ever since. Just to highlight the extent of my absolute adoration of bargain shopping, every part of my outfit in my bio pictures is from Marshalls. I am also a super-fan of outlet malls. My summer purchase this past month was my new kate spade purse. Originally priced at 150 dollars, I utilized all the coupons possible and got it for only 65 dollars (can you say wow?!).

I’m hoping to utilize this internship to gain even more experience in writing and photography and to promote myself as an individual dedicated to my work. I’m so excited to be back at the Swamp and to find even more trendy and fashion-forward students to highlight in my articles each week. Be sure to check back once a month to see the latest trends and looks!
