STYLE GURU BIO: Anna O’Connell

Hi loves! My name is Anna, and I’m a junior at Ohio State University. I’m an economics major and recently got real with myself and my need to fulfill a creative side and began studying fashion retail. After my freshman year, I transferred from Miami of Ohio to Ohio State and ever since, I couldn’t be happier. Going from a campus of 17,000 students to 65,000 students is a big change, and I’ve evolved entirely as a person. Columbus has an incredible art scene, and I find myself discovering and gathering inspiration in unexpected ways.

I’ve always been known to have a laid back, comfortable and trendy look. Each and every day I dress according to my mood, and that is a daily adventure in itself. Summer can be hard for people who love their jeans and leggings, and I’ve learned the hard way 100 degree days don’t agree with maximum clothing.

Destroyed denim is a fad I’ve jumped into with both feet, and what is even better is finding a pair you want to live in. You can find a similar pair to mine here. Most days, I find myself throwing on a knit tank that I can tie on my hip, match with a giant statement necklace or stack silver chains. My favorite necklaces can be found here. Paired with Tory Burch sandals, fringe bag and my all-time favorite aviators, I’ve created my go-to look.  You can find the sandals here. Casual, but also put together, I’d wear this or any variation of this outfit in most laid-back social situations. What I love about a good pair of jeans and a simple shirt is the versatility.

I believe clothing is another window to the soul, and self-expression through what you wear has importance beyond what the eye sees. I’m super excited start my first semester as a Style Guru!
