STYLE GURU BIO: Angela Lemp

Hey there pretties! My name is Angela Lemp, and I’m a sophomore at the University of Tampa in sunny Florida! I am currently pursuing a degree in graphic design, a field that I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember. Graphic design surely ties in with fashion; just like choosing the perfect outfit, it pushes you to be super creative and establish your personal aesthetic. I am a lover of all things fashion and am super excited to be part of such an amazing program that allows college students to express themselves via their own personal style!

I definitely wouldn’t say that I have one distinct style but some of my favorites include chic, preppy and boho. As all of my friends know, gold is my thing—I love it and can’t live without it (not joking in the slightest). You will never catch me in an outfit without sporting some sort of gold accessory! Style wise I am a sucker for a nice high neckline or pair of booties, and I love the occasional fringe as well. Some of my favorite stores include Nordstrom, francesca’s, J.Crew, Anthropologie, Madewell, Brandy Melville and Kendra Scott.

In reference to my style color palette, I am a huge proponent of neutrals. Grab a black or white T-shirt dress and see for yourself how it can be styled so many different ways with a change as simple as a statement necklace or pair of pumps. You wouldn’t believe how much of a difference a simple piece of jewelry can make to any outfit; I became especially aware of this after scoring a job at Kendra Scott this past spring. My job at Kendra Scott is awesome because I hold value in the company’s three pillars: family, fashion and philanthropy. I admire Kendra’s emphasis on fashion and self expression through personal style.

Style icon? Easy! Jackie Kennedy, duh. I love her signature style and how she can pull off literally anything. From bright, graphic prints to a classic black and white look, Jackie O. kills it in anything she sports. (Oh, and Audrey Hepburn for sure comes next—I dig the oversized sunglasses.) My favorite designers include the ever-so-fabulous Coco Chanel, Oscar de la Renta and Hubert de Givenchy. As Coco says, “Every day is a fashion show, and the world is the runway.”

I am highly influenced by European fashion (as clearly displayed above in my favorite designers). I have traveled to Europe several times, visiting England, Germany and Spain. I have also been to many of the U.S. states as well as South America and the Caribbean. My love for travel is perfect for discovering new fashion trends and style inspiration. If presented the opportunity, I highly encourage all of you Fashionistas to travel as far and wide as possible. You will be amazed at all of the different styles that you come across!

I am so excited for a fashion-filled summer with y’all!
