STYLE GURU BIO: Andi Wynter

Hello to the Fashionistas/os of the world! I’m Andi, I am a Communication Studies major at Loyola Marymount University and I am thrilled to be a Style Guru this fall for CollegeFashionista!

I am a Brooklyn baby, but I grew up in Florida for the majority of my life. Even though I lived on the East Coast, I knew my heart always beat for the West. California is one of my favorite places ever, and I find that my style and energy is based on the West Coast state of mind. I am a firm believer in easy living and embracing oneself to the fullest, and what better way to do that than what you wear on your body?

My number one motto is: “Look good feel good,” and if there is one thing that anyone knows about me, it’s that I find every excuse to whip out a chic outfit wherever I go. No matter what the occasion is, I think it’s so important to always be presentable. To me, dressing casual does not have to mean being lazy or sloppy, and there is always a way to look “lazy” with the intent to look cute. All in all, my two most important rules when it comes to style are: Dress for yourself and dress to feel comfortable on the inside and out.

Some facts about me: I love to travel and explore. I think the more you learn about the world around you the more you learn about yourself. I am absolutely addicted to acai bowls! I can have one at any time of the day and never get sick of it. My two all time favorite TV shows are The Hills and American Horror Story (The amount of times I have watched them is completely unhealthy). Lastly, my bank account suffers greatly from my concert addiction.

As for my style, one of the easiest things to wear is a romper. With rompers, there is no pressure to find two articles of clothing to piece together, and they can be simple to dress up or play down. I love statement jewelry and thought this silver necklace matched well with the gray-blue pattern on my romper as well as my throwback ’90s tattoo choker. One of my biggest struggles is incorporating color to my wardrobe and I felt like the pink from my sunglasses added a subtle touch. For my footwear, I wanted this outfit to go in a more edgy direction so I styled it with my number one closet staple: Dr. Martens.

I can hardly wait for this semester and I’m anxious to see all the stylish people on my campus. Stay tuned for posts to come!
