Hello Fashionista and Fashionistos! I am Ali Stern and this is my very first semester being a Style Guru, and I am very exciting to be apart of the team for CollegeFashionista. In the fall I will be a junior at Illinois State University (Go Redbirds) majoring in Fashion Merchandising. I am extremely excited to share ISU’s most trendy students with my readers.
Fashion has always been one of my interests in life. As a young girl, I always had an eye for putting outfits together and my entire wardrobe had to match. I could not leave the house without my favorite purse to complete the outfit. As I got older, this never changed. I believe having a cute purse to pair with any outfit is essential. Whether the purse has a fun pattern or is a solid color a purse is definitely a must! My style varies day-to-day depending on my mood like most college students. You can find me at American Eagle Outfitters, PacSun and Free People. One of my favorite go to look is a pair of flare jeans with a white simple boho shirt with some interesting details. This outfit is very simple, yet tasteful and can be easily transformed from day to night.
I have had the opportunity to expose myself to real world experiences working in retail stores such as Forever 21 and Express. Through these experiences I have learned hands on day-to-day aspects of the fashion world. I am aware of what customers want to see in stores so I am always exposed to the current fashion trends.
Living in a place like Chicago, it can definitely be hard to style an outfit with the weather changing so frequently. I can’t wait to share my tips and tricks on how to look effortless and chic in an everyday outfit.
