Hello there! My name is Ali Lixandru and I am beyond excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista Style Guru team this semester. I have been blessed to have the amazing opportunity to be a student-athlete in college and through soccer I have made my way to the town of Flagstaff, Arizona where I am going into the second semester of my sophomore year at Northern Arizona University, with a major in Business and Marketing.
For the longest time I have been enthused with fashion and design, even from a young age I have always thought about doing something in the industry. Although Flagstaff is known to Arizona simply as a small college town, I am constantly inspired by the trends and fashion I see around my university everyday. Fashion has been even more so a lifestyle within my beginning years of college and this opportunity with CollegeFashionista gives me the amazing chance to share trends, advice, and my own personal style with people across the nation.
Growing up I have always been interested in the high-fashion quality that has been showcased in magazines such as Vogue, ELLE and InStyle. I love buying new magazines whenever I can and reading and rereading them. Through my passion for high-fashion I try to incorporate it within every outfit I wear. I idolize fashion designers such as Diane Von Furstenburg, Michael Kors and Olivier Rousteing and aspire to have a career as spectacular as theirs. As for everyday Fashionistas, my go-to icons would have to be Selena Gomez and her varying style, from sleek and sophisticated to sassy punk and Vanessa Hudgens with her boho-like flair.
As I mentioned I am a student-athlete and have grown up playing soccer since the age of four. Soccer has forever been a passion of mine and without it, I honestly wouldn’t be the person I am today. However, soccer isn’t my only hobby, I also enjoy sketching, shopping, reading new novels and browsing fashion magazines in my spare time.
CollegeFashionista is an amazing opportunity to get myself out there and prepare to be a part of the fashion industry I’ve dreamed of. I cannot wait to get started and I am so thrilled to be surrounded by other great Style Gurus with amazing style and passion.
