STYLE GURU BIO: Alexandria Pankratz

Hola, bonjour, hello! I feel like I blinked and summer has come to an end all too quickly. However, the good news is that the time for oversized sweaters and Pumpkin Spice Lattes is upon us again. I can’t believe I am beginning my third year as a Journalism student at Ryerson University and I am excited for another RAD semester writing for CollegeFashionista.

I am originally from Vancouver, BC and since moving to Toronto two years ago, I travel back and forth a lot. Something I have gotten into the habit of is carrying around a notebook. Whether I am sitting in the airport or on a coffee break in between classes, I always like to take the time to write down an observation or exciting event that happened that day.

Writing has always been a huge part of my life. I have memories from a very young age of writing plays and forcing my brothers to be my ‘actors’ as we preformed them for a variety of audiences. My parents have always supported my dream of becoming a journalist/broadcaster; without their love and support I have no idea where I would be.

When asked what my personal style is, I never know what to say. Growing up, my mother always dressed me from head to toe in Baby Gap or Gymboree. Although, over the years I began to purchase a wide variety of clothes; from baggy mom jeans and Nike Air Max 90 runners to wide bottom dress pants and a blouse, I’ve worn it all. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I love a variety of looks and styles and I buy a whole array of unique pieces.

For my first post I’ve chosen to wear one of my new favorite articles of clothing: a camel suede dress. I found this beauty at Artizia and it may be one of the most comfortable things that I own. I paired it with my over the knee boots from Nordstrom and a dark blue felt hat. This outfit is perfect for the transitioning weather because you can easily layer a jacket or sweater over top for cooler fall days.

As mentioned earlier, I’ve already spent a semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I am absolutely overjoyed that I have another opportunity to share my opinion on various trends and capture some of Toronto’s finest Fashionista/os. Please stay tuned for my articles!
