STYLE GURU BIO: Alexandra Ortiz

Hi all! My name’s Alex and I am so excited to join the CollegeFashionista team this spring semester! I am a junior at Bryant University majoring in marketing with a double minor in Spanish and global supply chain management. I’ve lived in little Rhode Island my whole life, but am truly a city girl.

I love listening to music, dancing, writing and ’90s teen movies. That being said, I have a growing interest in the mass media and music industries. I am actively pursuing opportunities to gain writing and industry experience. Eventually, I want to become the music and entertainment editor for a major mass media magazine! I believe that pop culture has an influence on current fashion trends and vice versa. You can certainly get refreshing outfit inspiration from a variety of entertainers.

I usually describe my style as street-chic with a bit of a sporty vibe. Living in New England really allows me to change up my style by season. I consider myself a very active and busy person. As a result, my outfits tend to have basic and neutral pieces with statement accessories to bring out my style and to keep comfortable.  For the colder months my go-to outfit consists of an oversized sweater, a ripped jean, and a pair of New Balances. If I feel like dressing up I’ll put on pair of black nylons and boots. This year my absolute favorite trend is anything off-the-shoulder. An off-the-shoulder blouse radiates a feminine and effortless vibe.

My daily look consists of mascara and a dark lip. I tend to shop at Zara, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters and Old Navy. I value being comfortable and stylish. I believe if you are comfortable and confident with an outfit, self-expression and your personality will shine.

Now that you know a little bit about me and my style, stay tuned and join me for a #RAD semester!
