STYLE GURU BIO: Alexa Price

Hello! I’m Alexa and I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Communication Arts with an emphasis on TV and Film Production. This is my first semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru and I couldn’t be more excited! Madison’s style blooms in summer and I’m ready to capture it. While my major is not fashion related, I’ve always had fun experimenting with different styles. Because I have always loved clothes and fashion, I started working the perfect college job at a clothing store in the heart of campus. I love styling mannequins and picking out perfect ensembles for customers.

Getting to senior year has been a long haul, and I still don’t really know what I’m going to do upon graduation. This past semester has inspired change and growth in my life. If you’ve been on Pinterest, you’ve seen this quote: “If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.” Albeit cliché, it has made me infinitely happier by inspiring me to take risks. I changed my major, dyed my lifelong blonde locks to a fiery red and decided to wear whatever I want regardless of other people’s opinions.

My style usually consists of neutrals, boots and pieces that my friends refer to as “rocker” or “edgy.” However, I wanted to lighten it up a bit for this spring-into-summer post. I love to liven up an outfit by mixing textures since I tend to keep it neutral on the color palette. This summer I’ve fallen in love with platform sandals, which are way more comfy than they look. Keeping the textures alive, I always sway towards studs, spikes and raw rocks in my jewelry and details. Until next time, Fashionista/os!
