STYLE GURU BIO: Abby Gross

Hi all! I’m here to give you just a dose of Abby Gross (aka me)! I am a second year studying communications and psychology at UCLA. I’m excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for the first time and cannot wait to see what this journey has in store.

At this point in my life, I consider myself a coast-to-coast gal. I was born and raised in a suburb of Washington, DC and now migrate to Los Angeles for my educating times of the year. On breaks home I live out of a suitcase, so I try to have a steady stream of basics in my wardrobe, mixed in with some statement pieces.

To understand my style, it’s important to understand a bit about me. Everyone who knows me knows that I am sarcastic (always). I like to make sure that I’m always keeping it real, so that includes my sense of style. I would describe my wardrobe as ironic; just like myself. I will spend $10 on an over-sized sweatshirt to mimic the Yeezy S/S 17 collection or $200 on a pair of boots that I only wear twice.

Shopping has always been both my favorite hobby and greatest downfall. I’m hip to the latest trends but can’t pin down a style. In this look, I’m sporting a go-to pair of leather booties, a T-shirt dress (or oversized T-shirt—the world may never know), sheer black tights, and wool socks. It is the essence of my comfortable, casual, wearable, and unique closet.

I’m looking forward to discovering Fashionisto/as this spring, so catch me on Bruin Walk with my camera ready!
