STYLE BIO: Sierra Zaner

Why hello there Fashionistas/os! The name is Sierra Zaner, as you can tell from the header, and I’m so ecstatic to be returning the University of South Carolina this upcoming spring semester as a Style Guru. I am a sophomore Fashion Merchandising major minoring in Public Relations. Although I travel to Hilton Head Island to visit my parents at their home, I consider myself a born and raised sassy Floridian. I’ve seen an array of clothing from the shores of Florida to the coast of South Carolina. With each style I encountered, my love for innovative fashion blossomed.

For me there was no turning back as soon as I put on my studded black Steve Madden combat boots at the prime of my adolescence. At first I loved all things leather, simple and black. Now you’re probably thinking how much could you have in black? Well the answer is a lot. In the inspiring words of Wednesday Addams: “I’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker color.” Nonetheless, from the culture around me, I couldn’t help but fall madly in love with the bohemian lifestyle of the city and the ambiance of the beach life. Each life style followed with staple pieces such as: jean vest paired with circle sunnies or slouchy linen pants and Rainbow flip flops.

On Hilton Head you can find me in the Barnes and Noble or at work wearing skinny jeans of any shade, a tank with a cardigan and a pair of Converse. At school you can catch me running around campus (probably lost) in black leggings, booties, a sweater and my stickered CamelBak glued to my hand.

I’m excited for this semester to start and I look forward to exposing the trends of Columbia fashion. Check back weekly to catch up on all the chic gems U of SC holds!
