STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Witchy Business

Whether you identify with Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Hermione Granger or Nancy from The Craft, this season’s trendiest look, as shown by our Fashionista, is “witch-chic.” Even if you don’t have access to ancient runes, an animal familiar or a copy of Malleus Maleficarum, there is no need to be intimidated. Anyone who likes wearing dark clothes (and pointed hats) can pull this magical trend off.

Start with a black dress that hangs off the body. Picture something a librarian who referees roller derby on the weekends would wear. While our Fashionista is wearing a mid-length dress, a floor length dress or skirt would work as well. Basically, it just has to be fairly shapeless and black. Our Fashionista layers a beige colored, cape-like sweater on top of her dress. The length of her sweater is perfect for cooler fall days.

Additionally, this Fashionista color-blocks by matching her maroon knee-high socks with maroon Dr. Martens. It should be noted both items are the color of blood, which works well with our witch theme.

Our Fashionista finishes off her look with a few unique accessories. Her beautiful rings are made with crystals and her necklace is adored with a sun, a moon and pieces from an Ouija board. These pieces are all delicate ways to show the world you wish you were capable of casting magical spells.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear more black, avoid pastels like the plague, always incorporate death into your outfit somehow and capes are back in style.”
