STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: White-hot

July 1st, 2015 at 2:00am

As the summer heats up, it gets a little bit harder to balance staying cool and chic. The playful layering looks of the spring have long ago become stifling and we look for the strappy and sleeveless to avoid heat stroke. But while string bikinis are perfect for Miami, most excursions require showing a little less skin. The solution: white pants.

This Fashionista pairs hers with a lavender Lacoste polo to complement her green eyes. Wearing all light colors when it hits 90 helps prevent that melting in the sun feeling. Her bright pair of jeans are cuffed at the bottom for a casual flair, which matches her Jack Rogers sandals in white and brown. No summer look is complete without a pair of sunglasses like these Ray-Bans. Adding nautical accessories like a gold and coral starfish bracelet is also season-appropriate.

Everyone has a favorite piece of clothing and mine has to be white pants. They can be worn to an internship with a floral blouse and flats or dressed down for the beach with a crop top and flip flops. Like any colored pant, they are effortlessly eye-catching and polished. I suggest going bold with tropical prints and neon colors to stand out while staying cool.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I like wearing white jeans because I like to wear colorful tops and accessories, so I enjoy being able to mix and match! When I wear them I usually wear my Jack Rogers or just any cute sandal, or even just regular flip flops for a more casual look.”
