When we were younger, there was that one triumphant day when we declared ourselves the stylist of our daily looks. From then on, it was assumed that we had mastered, or were simply continuing to work on, the art of matching. We have become so accustomed to the ways we were taught despite what we never learned, and our personal style was born.

Mixing prints as a result of our innate outfit choices is not always the easiest task. Take your time to feel confident in your mismatched outfits this summer and start pairing the unexpected from your wardrobe. Though it may present a challenge at first, this is a fashion risk that’s absolutely worth it. Don’t be afraid to go bold and rest assured that someone is likely going to be inspired by your combination. You will look fashion-forward with pieces you already own such as camo pants. These are a common staple for the average college guy and gal if I do say so myself. What could be better than easily reinventing your closet’s contents for cost effective summer fashion? Save your hard earned cash for the fun activities and outings you have planned with friends and family. Enjoying yourself in style this season is made easy thanks to camo and floral, or whatever other prints you might decide to substitute.

This Fashionisto put together an effortless look with camo print joggers and a floral print Marilyn Monroe T-shirt. He opted for casual comfort, but still went bold with a snakeskin print sneaker as well as tortoise shell Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses. All together it was a fun and unorthodox fashion statement for a warm summer day on campus.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Trending is not my first thought when I pick my clothes; I think anything goes if you like it. Mixing prints is like picking up two things off of the floor that just so happened to look good together.”
