STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Mandals

It’s summertime here in Florida, but let’s be honest—it always feels like summertime with the heat that we all put up with. Transitioning your look from spring to summer is quite easy to do in Florida: instead of wearing closed toed sneakers, like a pair of Vans or Converse, put on a pair of sandals or, in this case, a pair of “mandals.” Beating the heat can sometimes be a hard task to achieve when you’re a guy because you can’t wear short-shorts and a crop tops like us gals out there.

This Fashionisto keeps his cool while sporting a short sleeved button-down denim shirt with half of the buttons unbuttoned. That’s right guys, you can still wear your button-downs in the summer without melting. Pairing this top with a pair of rolled-up khaki-colored jeans and a pair of “mandals,” also known as Birkenstocks. Simply cuffing his jeans and unbuttoning his shirt, as well as adding Ray-Ban Clubmaster look-a-likes and a nice silver watch, adds so much to this Fashionisto’s look and really brings it all together.

This summer season, keeping it cool and beating the heat should be fairly easy with the new trends consisting of “mandals,” denim-on-denim, floral (that’s right guys, it is now acceptable for you to wear your “party shirts” on a daily basis) and so much more. These trends are easy to gather and will soon become some staple pieces for your closet and will be worn all over your college campus.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?: “Never be afraid to stretch the limits and boundaries of fashion. To reach new heights, one must strive to be different.”
