STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep it Comfy

Fall is officially upon us with crisp mornings and chilly afternoons. That means it’s time to unpack the sweaters and pants and officially say goodbye to the convenience of throwing on a tank top and heading outside. Seasonal transition is in full swing and the Fashionistas of Virginia Tech are showing off their best fall pieces!

This fall weather may pose a bit of a problem for those trying to find the perfect balance between staying warm and not overheating. Heading to class is one thing; you can simply bring a sweater if you’re cold and carry it when you don’t need it. You’re ready for the morning cold and the afternoon warmth.

Going out, however, is a whole different ball game. Sure, you could bring a sweater or jacket, but who wants to be carrying that around all night or worrying about leaving it somewhere? I know I don’t and I think most people would have to agree.

Well, look no further for some insporation, because this Fashionista figured it out! Her number one rule is to keep things comfy when you’re going out on the town. No one wants to go out feeling insecure, so wear something that you are comfortable in and you’ll be sure to work it!

This Fashionista started with her favorite flowy skirt and paired it with a flowy white Free People top to add some detail. To avoid having chilly legs, she chose a pair of knee-high blue and white knit socks, which also added a pop of color. After choosing her favorite pair of fall booties, she added some of her favorite accessories. Layering bracelets on both wrists and statement rings on each hand contributed personal flare. Her favorite, new, black short-brim hat completes the fall look and this Fashionista is ready to take on the night!

Embrace the fall with a look like this and you’ll be sure to own the night!
