STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dressing Up Isn’t Only For Warm Weather

It’s that time of year again where there’s hardly any sun and the ground is covered in snow. That means dressing in many layers, so when you step outside you don’t freeze to death. Personally I know I love wearing a nice pair of joggers to class, but being warm and comfortable shouldn’t stop you from looking like you’re about to walk down a runway or be in a fashion magazine.

Patterns and prints have never really gone out of style. Recently what’s been really fashion-forward has been wearing print leggings or pants and pairing them with a solid colored top and accessorizing. This Fashionista put good use to the saying “dressing up isn’t only for warm weather.” Wearing prints has always been in style, whether it be polka dots, flower print, stripes or tribal print. When wearing a print, the go-to is to always pair it with a solid color. That’s exactly what this Fashionista did. She paired her print loose pants with a sleeveless turtleneck black top. Turtlenecks were very fashion-forward in the ’90s and early ’00s. Turtlenecks are making their comeback in fashion today. They’re very comfortable and can be worn in a variety of ways. This Fashionista has the print pants over the shirt with a leather jacket on top. To top the off the look, she pairs everything with side studded ankle booties, a jeweled necklace and rings.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Just because it’s cold, doesn’t mean you can’t dress to impress. It’s really easy to dress comfortable and warm on your way to class. Why wear sweats to class every day when you can mix up your wardrobe with a pop of prints and accessories to give you that current fashion-forward look?”
