STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dress for Success

Let’s face it. Other than tanning and drinking iced coffee by the pool, every girl’s favorite aspect of summer is lounging in her favorite and most comfortable summertime dress. When it’s too humid to wear jean shorts yet not hot enough to rock a bathing suit by the pool all day, one finds themselves with the perfect opportunity to rock their favorite summertime dress! Not only are dresses more convenient and less expensive (considering the entire outfit is one piece), but they are also extremely versatile for any type of weather and occasion! As we have seen in major retail brands such as H&M, Gap and lululemon, fashion empires throughout the world are finding new and innovative ways to design dresses for every occasion and within every price range.

While evaluating this trend, the first thing that came to my mind is comfort! Oftentimes, in the heat of the summer the last thing anyone wants is to be wearing layers of clothing. With that being said, dresses are the perfect outlet to wearing the lightest amount of clothing while also integrating the best style and saving a few bucks here and there. In addition, dresses are entirely versatile! For example, it is entirely possible to bring out your favorite summertime dress in the dead winter. Simply add some tights and a rugged sweatshirt with boots. A perfect dress is truly one of the most convenient and versatile purchases you’ll ever make!

So how does one achieve this look? Check out this Fashionista looking stylish as ever in this rugged dress found at the local H&M here in Indianapolis. Something that immediately caught my eye when I saw her was the distinctive designs and style that went into her dress. I loved the mixture of zippers, drawstrings and pockets found scattered on the dress. The small details give the dress a professional look while adding some bohemian edge. To finish off her look, she is wearing a beautiful pair of black wedges found at Old Navy and Vince Camuto sunglasses.
