STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Double Sweater, Even Better

February 19th, 2016 at 2:00am

The weather at Bucknell University can be rather brutal at times. During these cold winter months, it can often be difficult to put together a functional outfit that is also chic. As you could tell, this Fashionista perfectly solved the dilemma. This super chic black sweater is actually one sweater layered over another one. This long time trick of layering to solve winter’s cold weather was styled in a way that doesn’t sacrifice fashion over function. This look is timeless which why I love it, but the triangle slit in the back of top sweater mimics the cutout trend we’ve seen so much this year.

This Fashionista chose to pair her chic black sweater combination with an army green pant and black riding boots. All in all, she kept her look simple and timeless by using neutral colors for the majority of her look. Her accessories are also minimal, which gives this look a very sophisticated quality. I can totally see her rocking this look at a concert or date night.

In order to give an oversized sweater a structured look, either pair it with one that is more tailored or wear this long, textured sweater from ASOS with a basic white sweater. To turn this classic look up a notch, pair the sweater combo with a pair of edgier army green biker jeans.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Never be afraid to experiment with layering. If a look doesn’t work out, you can always take a layer off and start over.”
