When it comes to men’s wardrobe, there is one staple piece they cannot live without. It is a pair of classic dark denim jeans. You will always see dark denim jeans pop up on the runway in fashion week every season. Luckily for men, the more they wear in their jeans, the better the wash gets.

When we hear dark denim we automatically think, jeans. This all changed when we saw dark denim in fashion week for Men’s spring/summer 2015 shows. Designers such as Tom Ford, Christopher Bailey and Miuccia Prada gave us a different perspective on how we can incorporate denim into our everyday life. Our dark denim pieces no longer have to wait until casual Fridays to be worn. You can use your denim jacket as a top and throw on your favorite sports blazer to dress it up. It will be too heavy, you say? Well, the best part of all of this is that we will be seeing more denim, but it will not be the typical thick denim that we are all familiar with. Denim will be light enough to layer it with other pieces.

This Fashionisto is wearing his classic slim dark jeans with the right colors in his outfit to make this look perfect for spring. He wears a lighter blue sweater with specks of the same color in his jeans, which makes his jeans appear not as dark. This is a great way of lightening the outfit if you are afraid of using darker colors this spring/summer. He also adds a simple watch with a brown band that complements the blue in his outfit. Lastly, my favorite part of his outfit is his boots. The color block on his boots with the lights and darks goes great with his color block sweater. Boots are another staple in men’s and women’s wardrobe, but that’s another story!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Men are simple. All they need is a pair of good jeans and a nice watch.”
