STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Crochet Suit

I recently to a trip to London for my new internship at the premium department store House of Fraser in London. As I was roaming around the streets of the city center I couldn’t help but be distracted by this amazing ensemble by none other than the ’60s icon Mary Quant. This Fashionista and fellow intern’s amazing eye for a classic piece didn’t go un-noticed.  The designer rose to fame in the ’60s after creating the classic controversial mini skirt and now specializes in creating ’60s-inspired pieces with a modern twist.

Standing out among the sea of boring black and blue suits was this beautiful powdered blue crochet skirt and blazer. The powder blue is on-trend and oozes spring/summer vibes. She paired this with a modest pair of opaque woolen tights and baby pink patent Mary Jane pumps similar to these pink ballet pumps from ALDO. This is the perfect outfit for making a statement on the first day in the office. Instead of opting for a handbag this Fashionista has chosen a pastel backpack from Radley that is both practical and stylish.

Woolen clothing is not for the faint-hearted and it is safe to say only the most confident in their style are likely to wear it. Crochet and knitted clothing has been very popular for the spring/summer 2015 season so why not mix it up by using this concept for work wear?
