STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bring On The Prints!

When looking in your closet, would you ever pair two prints together? You know what I’m talking about, Fashionistas. The floral skirt and that Aztec top are hanging up in your closet, dying to be worn. You pause and remember one of the rules of fashion: Pick one print to focus on in an outfit. Is 2015 ringing in a new wave of spunk and boldness? Do you dare to try the multiple print trend? With a little guidance from a Fashionista of University of Delaware, I dare you to try this trend.

As seen on Nicole Miller’s spring/summer 2015 show, the designer mixed all sorts of prints. One of my favorite looks here combines both stripes and florals. It can be intimidating to combine such bold patterns in one look. This Fashionista takes a subtle approach to combining prints for an everyday casual look. This Fashionista chose a color scheme for her prints and patterns. This is vital, so your multiple prints flow together and complement each other nicely. For example, this Fashionista chose blue and gray as her main color scheme. Her gray tribal printed cardigan picks up the gray tones in the elephants on her scarf. Her blue T-shirt ties together the elephant printed scarf and her tribal printed cardigan. This Fashionista keeps it casual with denim jeans and comfortable combat boots. For her accessories, she mixes gold and silver bracelets and rings.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Warm beanies! After returning from warm Hong Kong, the cold winter has been difficult to adjust back to. I’ve been living in my warm beanies to keep me toasty as I walk all over campus.”
