STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bold Colors for Winter

January 1st, 2017 at 2:00am

One thing I love most about winter is the fashion. The luxe sweaters and cozy socks that make getting dressed in the morning a highlight of the day. But when it comes to winter shopping, it’s a bit lack luster in the color category. While neutrals are the go-to option, sometimes you need to spice it up, like this Fashionista does with her OOTD. Bold colors for winter? Yes, please!

It’s time to step out of the neutral colored box that is the winter season, and bold colors are just the way to do it. This Fashionista loves to play with color. Her closet is truly a work of art. By mixing bold and muted colors she has created an ideal contrast for her look. Her sunflower gold top layered with a maroon knit cardigan and a light wash jean, pair beautifully with her multicolor patterned overcoat and black Chelsea boots. And let’s be real—what doesn’t a cobalt blue accessory look good with? This combination gives her look an overall cold weather vibe spiced up a bit with a fun color pop!

Dressing in color doesn’t mean you can’t wear neutrals; in fact, I’m a groutfit fan myself. Dressing in color is all about changing it up the way you want to! If you go for the sleek all-black ensemble, try pairing it with a colored lip and some killer accessories. If your OOTD is made up of strictly muted tones, maybe add a rich colored shoe or necklace to top off the look. I always try to incorporate a little color into my outfits, whether it’s my accessories, make-up or the clothes themselves, because life gets boring when you don’t have something fun to look at!
