STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Another One Bites The Duster

October 14th, 2015 at 2:10am

Hello fellow Fashionistas! It is a brand new month of the fall semester, so I am here bringing you another article to help you get through October in style. There is something about transitioning your summer pieces into the fall season that makes dressing yourself no easy task. However, have no fear because today I am going to help you decide what to wear without having to ditch your entire summer wardrobe just yet.

Now that we are hitting the colder season, we tend to get some bipolar weather patterns. One day it will be super sunny in the morning and by mid-afternoon you are freezing and left wondering if it is even the same day! If there is one thing you take away from this post, it should be how versatile and vital cardigans and light jackets are in your wardrobe. You can wear almost any summer ensemble you want by throwing on a cardigan and a pair of cute ankle boots. It is as easy as that! No more having to worry about not being able to enjoy the weather outside while being forced to freeze in an air conditioned classroom that is trying to start the new Ice Age. If you have not done so, I highly suggest investing in some staple layering pieces that will help keep you warm in these types of situations. Most importantly, these pieces can be used year round to keep you warm by layering them under heavy coats.

This Fashionista did an excellent job transitioning her summer pieces into the fall time. She paired her bright, patterned coral and navy chiffon dress with a navy duster coat. This coat is light enough to not weigh her down and cause her to overheat, but still provides the perfect amount of warmth that she needs to comfortably go throughout her day. Also, this coat will not be a hassle to carry around due to the weightlessness of it. For a more casual look, she rolled up the sleeves of the duster. Notice that the short length of the dress is balanced by the longer length of the coat, making the short dress appear longer, more appropriate and wearable. Lastly, she topped off her ensemble with a pair of tan, suede ankle booties, a structured coral purse, a marble detailed bracelet and a dainty two-tiered necklace.

I hope this helped all you gals still hold on to what is left of the summertime with your wardrobe. Have an amazing month, and I will see you next time! Stay #RAD.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The duster coat gives you more flexibility in taking summer pieces into the fall. But, it’s all about the little details. The gold accents give bright patterns delicate touches and really makes everything pop.”
