With summer in full swing, let the swimsuit season, music festivals and beach trips commence! So far, the summer of 2016 has included bright colors and fun prints. Since the seasons in Maryland love going above and beyond to make dressing cute near impossible, I am planning my wardrobe accordingly for a very hot summer. But if you know me, you know I don’t let the heat stop me from being a Fashionista!
The trend that I have seen migrate over fall and winter into summer is the lace-up front tops. They come in simple colors as seen in the picture above or with patterns like stripes. This Fashionista, who is dressed for a hot summer day, decided on a white sleeveless lace-up shirt married perfectly with a pair of black lace shorts. If you’re looking to achieve a more boho aesthetic, additional pieces could be added. For example, a lace bralette could be worn underneath the shirt to tastefully peak through the laced front. If it cools down in the evening, a floral patterned kimono can add just a pop of color without being too overwhelming. This look also allows for a ton of freedom when it comes to shoes. In particular, this Fashionista chose sandals, but other options could include high top Converse or wedges. All in all, the lace-up front shirts clearly are a trend that’s here to stay through any season.
There are so many different variations to choose from for this particular piece, which makes it perfect for any occasion during this summer season! Take some tips from other Fashionistas’ summer articles and you’ll be set for the warm weather!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “During these summer months, the most important thing for me is to stay cool and wear clothes that are lightweight fabric. but to also not let that affect my fashion choices when I’m out and still trying to achieve a certain look!”
