STYLE ADVICE: Jump Into Spring

Seventy degrees in the middle of February? I’ll take it, and I think most people would too. However, do you ever find yourself staring at a closet packed with winter clothes, but the weather decides to be super warm? That is how Virginia and Maryland have been for the past couple of weeks. There is always the dilemma of picking an outfit that resembles the winter more than spring or vice versa when this weather comes into play. It can be tricky putting an ensemble together because you don’t want to wear something completely out of season—although, sometimes it is acceptable.

This Fashionista assembled the perfect outfit that can resemble both winter and spring. She wore a burnt orange off the shoulder long sleeve top with bell sleeves at the bottom, ensuring that the long sleeve aspect doesn’t take away from the wintery vibe. These types of shirts are perfect for any season considering that they are light and airy, but can also keep you warm if need be. You can find one like hers here. The statement piece in this outfit is the dark floral shorts. This Fashionista decided to take advantage of this beautiful day and slip out of the everyday winter jeans and instead put on a pair of stylish shorts. The navy and yellow combination is flattering for all skin tones and adds a pop of color to the whole ensemble.

For a day out downtown it is important to wear comfortable shoes, but of course, they must be fashionable. That’s why the shoes that this Fashionista paired with her outfit are perfect for this occasion. These lace-up chunky heels by Jeffery Campbell are very comfortable and go well with any clothing item. The style of this shoe has been very popular recently and will definitely not go out of style anytime soon. To top off this look, add some simple jewelry and a rose gold Michael Kors watch like this one.

This Fashionista was successful in embodying the winter and spring seasons in one outfit, and it seems like this will be a trend for the East Coast throughout the next few months. Recreate this look for a lunch date, walking downtown, or even just hanging out with friends! That’s it for now; make sure to keep checking back for my next article coming soon!
