STYLE ADVICE FOR THE WEEK: Minimalistic And Monochromatic

I have never been someone who had a minimalistic approach—the more the merrier, right? I am currently in the process of moving back home to Colorado for the summer and one thing I’ve realized is that I have too many clothes! With every piece of clothing I own comes a story behind it, which makes getting rid of any article of clothing more difficult than you’d expect. However, as hard as it may be, I have been inspired by my friends and fashion blogs to take a more minimalistic approach with my closet. This means getting rid of the clothes that go unworn and investing in pieces that I can wear multiple ways.

This Fashionista is a pro when it comes to a minimalistic wardrobe. She keeps it bold, yet casual and chic making it perfect for going out or staying in. For this Fashionista, black on black is her go-to style on a daily basis; however, by adding in some gold and brown accents, the look becomes more feminine and fresh while still being so effortlessly chic. Although a monochromatic neutral outfit can sometimes be difficult to pull off, pairing a simple pair of skinny jeans, a loose fitting top and some accent jewelry, it creates a perfect simple silhouette.

The key to this minimalistic/monochromatic trend is to keep it simple. Find out what you need and what you don’t. Keep it fresh and easy, by adding simple accessories give the outfit the oomph it needs while still be effortless.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Honesty, keep it simple and clean. Don’t get caught up in superfluous accessories or trends because you’ll reach a point it subtracts from your outfit and who you are.”
