FASHION FROM ABROAD: Living Like a Local

Living in a big city has been quite a change for me. A Fashionista has to be able to keep up with the crowds. London also happens to be a very stylish and diverse city. Locals and foreigners alike take care to look chic, even on their way to work or class. As every college and working Fashionista knows, it can be hard to strike a balance between looking stylish and being comfortable. One cannot keep up with the hustle and bustle of the early morning commute in unforgiving shoes.

This Fashionista shows us the perfect example of trendy street style that works all day, everyday. Her crisp white button-down tucked into her Club Monaco fringe mini skirt combines the classic with the contemporary. Her adorable black booties from Madewell can turn heads down Oxford Street while she runs for the tube (that’s the subway for you New Yorkers). The black jeweled tights keep our Fashionista warm and add an element of edgy fun to the outfit. On top, she wears a denim trench, also from Club Monaco, to pull the outfit together.

Finish it off with a sleek, functional black cross-body bag and a black woolen hat from H&M and this Fashionista is ready for her day. I cannot stress enough how essential black booties and cross-body bags are for any city gal. This outfit is perfect because it combines classic and edgy pieces. Londoners love black and they also love hats. This particularly chic one keeps your hair in place and your head warm.

Captured: I ran into this Fashionista strolling through the streets of East London.
