FASHION FROM ABROAD: A Little Bit of Layering

The dreaded question comes to me every winter: how am I supposed to look cute when it’s freezing outside? The answer should be obvious but I’m always tripped up at the key to layering. It may feel like the air conditioning is on full blast when you walk outside but the second you step foot into your classroom it seems like you’re standing in the middle of a fire. So how are we supposed to stay warm outside and cool inside all while sipping on a soy latte? While visiting the Nashville, Tennessee area it finally came to me: color is the one and only thing you need. As long as your pieces shares similar colors you can do no wrong with layers.

The perfect look consists of three things: a sweater, a winter coat, and a scarf. The easiest way to pull off this chic look is to keep to a single color palette. With this neutral palette of brown, black, cream, and grey it’s almost impossible to could go wrong. Even with a pop of color or pattern you would be in the clear of an ensemble that you would look back to regret. While you can bundle up when you step foot outside, it’s super easy to shed your layers and live comfortably in your two hour lecture.

This look comes together to give that slightly grunge but totally cool-girl vibe. It’s the perfect combination to look sleek on the streets and composed in the classroom. So throw on layer after layer, sweater on-top of sweater, to beat the arctic tundra this season.
