Blue is the New Black

It is finally July! That means schoolwork has come to an end and summer festivities may begin. Personally, I have started my summer off with a bit of shopping, to say the least. While on my shopping endeavors, I have discovered the latest trend for all Fashionistas this summer; blues and stripes galore! Because of this, I have compiled this lookbook for fun, simple and trendy outfit ideas for July. Whether you are starting an internship or simply soaking up the sun, these looks can be worn anywhere and by everyone.

I love stepping out of my comfort zone by trying new styles, and this jumpsuit is the perfect example. Even though I adore rocking new trends, I still want to stay cool and comfortable, especially in the summer. This blue and white striped jumpsuit caught my eye the second I saw it on the hanger and knew I had to have it. The side slits add an edgy touch to the look (and not to mention how flowy it is!) Jumpsuits are awesome because they are all one piece so it is extremely easy to slip on and go. For the footwear, I paired the jumpsuit with a lace-up heel. If you’re looking for a more relaxed, bohemian vibe, a wrapped-up sandal would also be perfect for this look. The jumpsuit is a statement piece itself, so I kept jewelry to a minimum and popped on hoop earrings.

This next look is extremely similar to the previous, but is perfect for a day that is just too warm for a jumpsuit! A romper is perfect for the on-the-go gal because it is so easy to slip on, and simple enough to change from a day to night look. Also, the tie at the waist cinches in the romper and flatters any body type. For this look, I paired the romper with platform wedges to not only give myself a little height but make my legs appear leaner. Also, pro tip—not only have platform shoes made a comeback, but they are the most comfortable heels. If you’re out on the town all day and are in the market for a new, yet comfortable heel, I highly recommend platform shoes. Again, I like to keep jewelry simple with a statement romper like this, so I paired it with my hoop earrings once again, and a simple bar necklace.

Last, but not least, is this preppier look inspired by one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Krista Robertson, or better known by her blog, Covering the Bases. This ruffled top adds a touch of femininity to the look and looks perfect paired with these white, distressed jeans. This outfit is perfect for anyone, whether you’re having brunch with friends or looking for a more casual intern look. The distressing on the jeans add a subtle detail to really make the outfit stand out. Also, if you’re looking for another style of a striped top, look no further than this fellow Fashionista. For the accessories, I wore a simple brown sandal and spruced up the look with pearl earrings and a beaded necklace. If you’re on the search for a bright, yet casual summer outfit, then this look is the perfect match for you!
