When it gets smoldering, sweltering and sizzling hot, I cannot stand to have hair in my face. It gets in the way, it makes me sweat and it is just plain annoying. At other times, I just want to let my hair down but am quickly reminded by the New York humidity of why it isn’t such a good idea. So where do I find the happy medium in all this? Well, this Fashionista illustrates the perfect hairstyle solution to my summer hair dilemma. Although we might see many takes on the half-up/half-down style, this Fashionista exhibits the perfect way I would want to style my hair for the extreme heat.

This week’s Fashionista is the epitome of comfy, cool and casual. Her outfit is so versatile and can be worn to many events we Fashionista/os take on day to day. Her outfit has many subtle but quirky details that when pieced together, create a masterpiece.

First off, her fabulous graphic T-shirt is the center of the outfit. It is an immediate eye-catcher that when paired with her sleek dark wash jeans, creates a fun aura for the outfit. Her white Stan Smith for adidas shoes maintain the bright color scheme that the outfit delivers. Her fun details include her bright neon nail polish and matching, fabulous matte lipstick. Her dainty adornments such as a necklace and earrings are small details that are essential for every Fashionista’s outfit. Another accessory that lightens up the outfit is her bag, which brings out the fun of summer colors.

We can see why this Fashionista chose this hair-do; it contributes to the fun and playfulness of the whole outfit! Her variation on this hairstyle is neat and allows us to see her sunglasses, lip color and fun earrings.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To get this Fashionista’s look, make sure to use a fine- toothed comb to comb the hairs into place. Tie the hair into a pony tail with a small elastic, and when the pony tail is at a height that is comfortable, take the pony tail and twist it around the pony tail base. Lightly spray with hair spray to keep fly away hairs in place.
