BEAUTY BAR: Paint It Caramel

For those who do not know me personally, I dye my hair quite often. Fashion is no longer just about clothes, but about the entire facade that a person gives off. Hair dye, no matter the type, can completely change the style a person has, depending on what they have done. In recent months, the ombré trend has been on the rise, whether it be simply dying the ends of the hair blonde, or even incorporating bright colors.

Despite my love for hair dye, it can be expensive, requires a lot of maintenance and can damage hair if not applied properly. For the Fashionistas out there looking for a beginner approach to hair dye, balayage may be a good place to start.

Balayage is a dying method in which the dye is painted on without using foils and allows for a less uniform look than regular highlights. By using this technique, your color lasts longer because the regrowth line from roots does not grow in a way that makes it obvious. In contrast to ombré, the line between the different colors is softer, providing a more natural look. Balayage works on any hair color also, so no need to be intimidated!

This Fashionista had her hair dyed for the first time only a few weeks ago. As you can see her hair is fairly dark. She chose to dye the ends a caramel color for a natural look. In the sunlight especially, the color stands out.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: Achieving this look is completely doable without breaking the bank! All you need is a box of dye from any convenience store, gloves and color safe shampoo to ensure the color lasts!
