BEAUTY BAR: Less Is More

This Fashionista has a great sense of style, but what really stuck out to me was her expertise in makeup! This look is a very casual day-to-day outfit but the way this Fashionista rocks her makeup brings the whole look together, almost making her outfit look dressier.

This Fashionista’s look is very basic, sporting a pair of destroyed boyfriend jeans and a grey T-shirt. However, the main focal point of her look is her makeup. This draws all attention away from the outfit and really has you looking at her face! She uses nude tones that lighten up her face, which works well with the neutral tones in her outfit. The fact that she chose to use nudes instead of bolder colors works well with this look, keeping it soft and clean from head to toe. Even using nude tones, she manages to make her eyes look bold and stand out. This just shows that sometimes, less is more!

She accessorizes with minimal jewelry, sticking with gold hoops, a simple gold necklace, a watch and a few rings. These few pieces compliment the tones used in her makeup, making the whole look cohesive. She tops it off with a pair of white flip flops and a nude toned nail polish on her toes (again, working well with her makeup!)

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To bring her face to life and get the “glow” look, this Fashionista uses Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation paired with Tarte Park Ave. Princess bronzer for her face and Milani Baked blush in the shade, Luminoso, for her cheeks. She uses MAC mineralize skin finish in soft & gentle for a highlighter on her cheek bones and the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit to define and shape her face. To get her natural, yet bold eye this Fashionista uses Neutral Shadows from a Morphe palette as well as an eye shadow in the color “spice” for the burnt orange color seen on her bottom lash line. She uses Maybelline Line Stiletto for her winged liner and completes the look with a set of false eyelashes in the style “Demi Wispies” from Ardell. To top it all off, this Fashionista wears a MAC lip liner in strip down all over her lips. She then adds an ELF matte lip color in nearly nude to the center part of her lips.
