BEAUTY BAR: Lashes, Lipstick & Leather

“To me, beauty and makeup and color is like the finishing touch on everything.” This quote from Marc Jacobs is so relatable, especially with spring just beginning. The weather is finally starting to look up here in Oxford, so we can finally start putting away our black parkas and pulling out our colors. In this case, I found a Fashionista rocking the cutest leather pants (which are so trendy right now), black ankle-booties and a black top, paired with her gorgeous hair and makeup making this look to die for.

I’ve always loved following hair and makeup trends and when I saw this Fashionista I just had to stop her. Her hair is a brownish color on top, and ombrés into a bleach blonde with her hair loosely curled. But her makeup is what gets me; she has the perfect cat eye, which she got with her LORAC Pro liquid liner and her lashes go on for days after she used her “Better Than Sex” mascara from Too Faced. Her eye shadow is a light brown color from the LORAC Pro palette, which all combine to make her blue eyes pop. With simple blush, foundation and contour, her look is chic and natural. But then her lipstick kicks this outfit up a notch. It is a violet color by MAC, and the shade is called “Up the Amp.” I love how with a killer outfit and simple makeup, her lashes and lipstick bring this look together.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: You can recreate this look by using the makeup described above, and also by using primers to get everything to set. This Fashionista used NARS for her eyes, Dior for her eyelashes and Benefit Cosmetic’s “Gimme Brow” for her eyebrows, which helped set everything in place. She also used Kat Von D’s contouring kit, with blush from the Hourglass Holiday pallet and finally highlighter from Becca Jaclyn Hills (Champaign Pop). To finish off this look, she has ombré blue nails.
