BEAUTY BAR: Fairly Fierce

“Less is more” is a commonly used expression and it applies to almost everything and should be kept in mind when putting on makeup. Makeup should be used to enhance beauty, not completely transform one’s face. Wearing muted, natural colors that fit your complexion and eye color will help achieve striking eyes, skin and lips. The more precise and deliberate you are with your brushes, the less eyeshadow, foundation and lipstick you will need to wear. Keep it simple, but let your features pop by being selective about what (and how much) you apply.

This Fashionista is wearing a simple, yet chic outfit comprised of black leggings and a black top. She is adorned in only a few, delicate pieces of silver jewelry that complement her silver wedges. The main focus of her look is, well, her! When noticing this Fashionista, her face was very salient, here, you see her eyes are defined with smokey colors without being overbearing. She used a matte taupe color on her central lid and blended it upwards with a light creamy color while the corners of her eyes progressively get darker, adding bold contrast. The Fashionista blended her thin layer of black eyeliner into the dark corner of her lid, while she has reached the full spectrum of lights and darks; it appears relatively subtle when looking at her straight on.

Using a dark mascara also create the illusion of wider, bigger eyes. Underneath of her bottom black eyeliner, she blended white which prevents her makeup from being too dark. Our beautiful Fashionista has also made a statement with her lips, by using a medium red lipstick that was applied smoothly and evenly, her face embodies the style of old Hollywood glamour. Her skin is fair and glowing and it is evident that she did not cake on foundation, rather, dusted a small amount of powder to her cheeks. Overall, I applaud this Fashionista for being eye-catching from head to toe!
