BEAUTY BAR: Braids, Braids, Braids

A few summers ago, I chopped off eight inches of my hair. I was left with a chin-length bob that led me to spend more time than I care to admit watching YouTube videos on how to style it. Running track and practicing karate in high school led me put my hair up a lot. However, those with short hair know that the only way to get your hair to stay up and out of your face in a ponytail requires a box of pins. French braids, on the other hand, keep your hair up while looking adorable!

I found this Fashionista at a town concert rocking these long fitted overalls with a flowery bralette underneath. She immediately stood out for another reason though. She styled her hair into two perfect french braids that kept her hair away from her face but complimented her outfit. These braids differentiated her from all of the other girls who rocked longer beach waves. After talking to her about her look, she told me she usually does three braids (one on each side and one down the middle) for a more fashion-forward style. It is her favorite hairstyle because it is quick and easy in the morning but also sophisticated enough for work.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: This look requires barely any products at all, making it an easy go-to look! All you need to do is separate your hair into two sections with a thin comb, braid each section and tie it off with a hair elastic. For longer hold, finish with hair spray, and you are good to go!
