BEAUTY BAR: Au Naturel Makeup

July 2nd, 2015 at 2:00am

The humidity this summer has finally crept upon us, and it is not going to show us any mercy. It’s only going to continue to get hotter, but that doesn’t mean that makeup lovers are going to back down. Despite the blistering heat, we are going to continue to wear our makeup with pride. This season, natural makeup is all the rage, and this Fashionista has channeled this trend quite nicely. Her look is the perfect inspiration, and it doesn’t require much work. The last thing we Fashionistas want this summer is to spend a lot of time on our makeup and then have it all melt off.

In order to avoid a makeup catastrophe in this blistering heat, it is best to stick with neutral makeup. The word neutral does not translate into the word boring. There are endless looks you can create with the right neutral makeup palette. I recommend following this Fashionista’s lead by layering different shades of brown and gold eyeshadow to create the perfect smokey eye. This Fashionista completed her look by adding a very minimal amount of contouring powder to her face. She knew not to add too much because she knew that the heat may just melt it off. She didn’t want to end up looking like a mess later on in the day.

Overall, her makeup complements her outfit quite nicely. This Fashionista is wearing a black, purple and pink bohemian dress, and she finishes off her look with a pair of nude sandals. Since her dress is so fun and colorful, this Fashionista made a smart choice by keeping her makeup simple. Like this Fashionista, I am in love with the nude makeup trend. It is so effortless and looks so natural. And because it looks so natural, no one will be able to tell if it begins to fade when you start to sweat.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? This Fashionista swears by NYX Cosmetics. To complete this dashing look, you will need the NYX Highlight and Contour Pro Palette, NYX’s Natural Shadow Palette and NYX’s Vinyl Liquid Liner. In order to combat the heat, it is best to keep your makeup as light and neutral as possible. You will feel more comfortable in the humidity, and your skin will thank you later!
